Role Summary

This position is responsible for development, delivery, and the maintenance of existing horizontal applications under in the Workday Architecture of Payroll, HCM and Financials. The individual should have deep understanding of Workday Studio with ability to develop complex inbound and outbound integrations. The Workday Engineer role is responsible enhancing and supporting our Workday HCM application. This position plays a leading role in enabling thoughtful processes and solutions that drive efficiency. This position participates in all phases of Workday enhancement and ongoing support processes, including requirements gathering and analysis, functional and technical design, report writing, testing, deployment, and support. Must work well in a team environment and with multiple departments within Matson.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
•Responsible for systems analysis, integration design and development, testing, implementation and maintaining integrations in Workday and other data integration applications and platforms.
•Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure the seamless transfer of data within our systems.
•Enhances integration development guidelines and recommends best practices.
•Developing and testing new inbound and outbound integrations in Workday Studio, core connector and EIBs.
•Supporting and improving Workday integrations to ensure there built for scale.
•Leverages integration error logs to ensure that things are working properly.
•Gathering and analyzing integration issues to outline trends and creating action plans to resolve issues in a timely manner.
•Creating reports in Workday including creating complex calculated fields.
•Testing of new system features and releases and evaluating the impact on integrations.
•Provides technical consultation in development, vendor package system evaluations, and enhancement of new/existing systems.
•Independently analyze and solve complex problems.
•Use critical thinking, experimentation, and industry best practices to achieve desired business strategy and measured outcomes.
•Responsible for all technical aspects of the product application lifecycle including code, infrastructure, data, and security.
•Suggest improvements and proactively addresses issues.
•Identify continuous improvement opportunities to existing business practices, processes, workflows, and tools.

Technical Requirements/Competencies
•Advanced understanding and experience of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including integrations requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and move to production.
•Active Workday PRO Certification.
•Advanced skills with EDI, Web Services, XML, XSLT, Java, .Net or other integration technology.
•Advanced skills with Workday integration technologies such as EIB, Document Transformation, and Workday Studio.
•Understanding of Workday object driven architecture.
•Experience with Workday report writer, experience with composite reports is an added advantage.

Qualifications, Education, & Experience
•Four (4) or more years of experience building and supporting Workday integrations.
•Strong functional background in Payroll systems.
•Experience with Workday Studio, CCBs, Web Services & REST APIs.
•Excellent Workday report writing skills with a deep-rooted understanding of how to build calculated fields.
•Demonstrated competence of engineering concepts, theories and principles, combining them with business understanding to design, document and implement clean and robust solutions to complex business problems.
•Analytical approach to solving system issues including understanding system interdependencies.
•Proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and priorities and able to shift direction quickly when priorities change.
•Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow-through.
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
