What We Are Looking For

The Director of Workforce is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive workforce development programs aimed at enhancing the culture, skills, capabilities, and employability of our craft labor workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Labor Relations: Develop and implement labor relations strategies, policies, and programs that align with organizational objectives and promote positive labor-management relations.
  • Workforce Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive workforce planning strategy to meet the organization's current and future talent needs.
  • Employee Development: Design and implement professional development programs, training initiatives, and career pathways to enhance the skills and capabilities of the workforce.
  • Performance Management: Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Succession Planning: Develop and maintain a robust succession planning framework to identify and nurture high-potential employees for key roles within the organization.
  • Employee Engagement: Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, educational institutions, industry partners, and community organizations to create effective partnerships that enhance workforce development initiatives.
  • Training and Skill Development: Oversee the development of training programs, workshops, and resources to enhance the skills and competencies of employees, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Workforce Analytics: Utilize data and analytics to drive workforce decisions, track key performance metrics, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management: Effectively manage the budget allocated for workforce development programs, optimizing resources to achieve maximum impact.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices in workforce development to continuously enhance and evolve programs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, certifications, and accreditation standards related to workforce development programs. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications, Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing labor relations, workforce management, talent acquisition, and employee development.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to various audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align workforce development initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in workforce development.
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and industry trends.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement innovative workforce solutions.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the electrical construction industry, bachelor's degree in labor relations, Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
