Job Summary:

DC Logistics is seeking self-driven, motivated, and talented human resource generalist passionate about growing in a professional environment and playing an active role as contributor to the rapid growth and development of the company. The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the entire human resources functions in the realm of Payroll, Performance Management, Employee/Labor Relations, Training & Development, Benefit & Leave Administration, and Risk Management/Liability for the organization across multiple sites. The role is expected to provide ongoing Human Resources expertise, entering new hire paperwork and on-boarding new talent, and counsel to the organization, providing excellent HR service to all levels of employees as an individual contributor. You’ll also manage various HR projects, communicate employment laws and regulations, and maintain a union-free work environment. entering new hire paperwork and on-boarding new talent.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Assists in developing human resources policies and procedures; prepares memoranda of understanding and compensation and benefits profiles; interprets and explains policies and procedures to applicants, employees, and departmental staff.
  • Assist and conduct new hire orientations.
  • Conducts investigations of grievances, discrimination complaints, and misconduct/performance issues; makes recommendations for appropriate action; prepares required documentation and responses.
  • Coordinates new hire onboarding, benefits information; reviews, verifies, prepares, processes, and ensures timely submission of health enrollment forms, medical and dental forms, disability claims, and other related forms and documents.
  • Assists in coordinating the annual benefit open enrollment process.
  • Maintains all HR reporting and provides as needed or requested for senior staff.
  • Responsible for all personnel record management; scans, maintains all Personnel files electronically.

Internal and External Service Payroll:

  • Will enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Will ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Will reconcile payroll to the general ledger
  • Will issue, or reissue, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Will record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of ADP.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in all facets of Human Resource.
  • 3+ years of experience with ADPand ADP Workforce Now system.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Experience in Transportation, LTL, 3PL Logistics a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team, coordinate efforts and collaborate with a variety of individuals as well as develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to establish priorities, work in a team context, and manage multiple activities to meet department, company, and system-wide deadlines.
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of the day.
  • Ability to be mobile, will be required to occasionally life and/or move up to 10 pounds.
