Route Sales Representative

SUMMARY
Sells coffee and allied products to established account base and manages customer relationship. Performs routine maintenance at each account. Performs all aspects of account management. When not involved with existing accounts, he/she is responsible for seeking out new prospects by performing the below responsibilities. Must be properly dressed at all times with a business professional appearance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Delivers coffee, allied & equipment to customer’s place of business on regular / structured route schedule.
- Routinely calls on new prospects as directed by District Manager.
- Submits Sales Activity as directed.
- Forwards leads to managers in appropriate divisions.
- Maintains accurate up to date Order Manager, including Route Cards, Delivery Information, delivery sequencing, Customer Order Profile, and other information. Record customer par levels as required for business and seasonal changes.
- Demonstrates and sells new allied product line to established and new customers.
- Aggressively works on all sales promotions.
- Informs regular customers of new products or services.
- Achieves sales goals as established by manager in all product categories.
- Listens to and resolves customer complaints.
- Places and rotates products on shelves or racks within sales warehouse.
- Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers.
- Collects or picks up empty containers and/or rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Adheres to food safety objectives and work to uphold Cadillac Coffee’s food safety and quality system.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Performs customer relation functions including: stock rotation and managing inventory levels, brewing and equipment dispensing equipment maintenance to all customers.
- Makes regularly scheduled deliveries on assigned days. Manager approves changes.
- Checks customer equipment with each delivery, clean and repair or replace as required.
- Informs management and Customer Service of customer complaints and/or problems, changes in purchasing patterns as well as change of ownership.
- Writes customers pre orders and schedules deliveries.
- Reports all further equipment problems to service department.
- Replaces equipment occasionally.
- Cleans and maintains assigned warehouse and inventory as directed. Load/Unload delivery vehicle as required.
- Collects money from customers, makes change and records transactions on customer receipt. Complies with Company cash procedures. Performs bank deposits daily.
- Collects delinquent accounts as directed by Credit Manager or supervisor and communicates with Credit Manager of problem A/C's.
- Keeps Company vehicle in neat and clean manner. Assures proper maintenance and repairs are performed on company vehicles. Performs vehicle inspections as required by company.
- Returns and acquires equipment to/from area warehouses with complete and proper paperwork.
- Performs account inspections as scheduled.
- Performs a monthly truck and warehouse inventory.
- Directly responsible for product inventory and company assets as assigned.
- Performs an audit of equipment when requested.
- Assists in training of new territory manager.
- Will be on the weekend duty - on call schedule. Performs emergency deliveries as anytime required or instructed.
- Perform and/or assist customer equipment installations as requested. Turns all signed documents back to sales assistant.
- Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by senior management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COVERAGE
This position is backed by the sales territory and Sales Supervisor.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee can be exposed to risk of electrical shock when working with equipment.
