Tankersley Food Services in Van Buren, Arkansas is looking for a Buying Assistant to join our team.

The Buying Assistant will comprehensively assist the buying department with administrative and operational support.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Include but not limited to the following:

  • Run daily/weekly reports
  • Oversee shipping schedules
  • Update databases
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
  • Follow up with suppliers as needed
  • Copies, Scans, files and retrieves materials as needed. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to operate office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, or copier
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Clerical/Office experience required
  • At least two years of related experience

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
