Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the leadership position of Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment.

This position provides strategic direction and daily operation management for all undergraduate enrollment activities. The AVP will work collaboratively with key faculty and staff to develop, implement, and enhance undergraduate enrollment strategies that are aligned with CUC's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. This position is responsible for undergraduate recruitment, admission, and enrollment efforts.

This position reports directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and is based on the Concordia-Chicago campus in River Forest, IL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Vice President for Enrollment Management to create and implement recruitment and enrollment plans for undergraduate students.
  • Provides leadership and support to the undergraduate admission team including implementation of strategies designed to ensure consistent achievement of annual incoming class enrollment targets.
  • Collaborates with key constituents (faculty, staff, athletics, marketing) to articulate and promote CUC's mission, vision, and academic programs for all undergraduate prospective students, parents, and influencers.
  • Prepares weekly reporting for the Vice President for Enrollment and senior leadership, providing updates on enrollment and recruitment strategies.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing department, develop and implement all marketing strategies for undergraduate recruitment efforts to achieve established enrollment goals. This includes but is not limited to web strategies, social media, advertising, and print materials.
    • Develops short and long-term goals and metrics for traditional undergraduate new student recruitment, based around the university strategic enrollment plan.
    • Research and report on industry trends and best practices to senior leadership. Recommend process improvements.
    • Provides leadership for all undergraduate admission-related events (virtual and in person).
  • In collaboration with the VPEM, manages the departmental budget and spending plan. Makes recommendations to the VPEM as appropriate.
  • Provides leadership for the entire traditional undergraduate enrollment unit.
  • Compiles and analyzes data that details recruitment, admission, deposit,
  • Oversees all work with domestic and international partners related to recruitment, application, admission, and enrollment, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Candidates must support and be committed to the of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Skill Sets:
  • Excellent working knowledge of industry trends and best practices in undergraduate enrollment strategies.
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Superior analytical skills utilizing data-drive decision making to implement strategic enrollment initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CRM enrollment solutions and related databases.
  • Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to excel in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Commitment to serving a diverse student population in recruitment and admission.
  • Enthusiastic supporter of the Concordia-Chicago mission as part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Minimum Experience:

Required:
  • 5-7 years of experience in higher education enrollment management, preferably in undergraduate admission.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience.

Preferred:
  • 8-10 years of experience in higher education enrollment management, preferably in undergraduate admission.
  • 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience.

Education Requirements:

Master's degree in higher education administration, business, or related field is required. Additional training/professional development in higher education enrollment management and/or enrollment marketing highly desirable.
