Position Title: Branch Coordinator
Reports To: Market Coordinator/Director of Retail Services/Market President
Status: Hourly; Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Develops new account relationships, opens and services all deposit accounts and safe deposit boxes. Cross-sales bank products and services at all available opportunities. Provides leadership for the branch staff and works with the market retail coordinator for planning, directing and organizing the daily operations on the teller line. Provides teller duty support as assigned. Deals directly with new and existing customers to expand and strengthen banking relationships by providing prompt, accurate and friendly service to all customers.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Performs Teller Line Duties
    • Perform vault/lead teller duties that may include performing teller supervisor overrides; mentor teller staff and assist with balancing issues; monitors and maintains bank policies on the teller line and approves deviations from established policies and guidelines; resolves customer conflicts on the teller line; assists with training of new customer service associates.
    • Cash customer checks; handle savings and checking deposits; withdrawals and transfers; process customer loan payments, utility payments, cash advance requests; issue personal money orders and cashiers checks; quotes values and redeems savings bonds; wrap coin and currency (as applicable)
    • Balances and verify cash drawer (as applicable)
    • Assists with processing daily document imaging and branch capture processing.
    • Maintains branch ATM machine, including CASH orders; balancing ATM and resolving issues with ATM
    • Identify and report potential fraudulent customer activity.
    • Follow appropriate bank policies and procedures when completing transactions, placing holds when necessary.
  • Develop New Account Relationships, Cross-sale Products and Services and Maintain Account Current Relationships, as assigned.
    • Evaluates customer needs and recommends appropriate products and services; making appropriate customer referral to all business areas of the bank
    • Sells bank services to customers and potential customers by phone or personal visits.
    • Attends and actively participates in team sales meetings
    • Opens, and services all deposit accounts. Inputs account data onto platform system. Follows up on new account relationships after 2 weeks and again at 2 months.
    • Performs account maintenance on deposit accounts for customers and inputs data on platform system.
    • Places check orders for customers through internal and external vendors.
    • Prepares customer direct deposit sign-ups.
    • Assists customers with stop payment orders and inputs onto platform system.
    • Assists customers with ACH & debit cards disputes by completing appropriate paperwork and sending to central deposit operations.
    • Opens and services safe deposit boxes.
    • Quotes rates and answers customer inquiries.
    • Formulates mandatory IRA customer distributions, completing required documentation for customer signature and processing IRAs on system.
    • Completes required CIP documentation for customer signature.
    • Posts payouts on computer system and deliver to IRA customers.
    • Assists customers with imaging research and balancing accounts.
    • Assists customer with enrollment and support on our electronic banking products such as internet banking, mobile banking, remote deposit capture and telephone banking.
    • Process wire requests at the branch level and send to the wire department for processing.
    • Provides notary services (if applicable)
    • Balances customer accounts as needed.
  • Acts as a Receptionist
    • Answers incoming telephone calls and relay information.
    • Greets customers, answer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate individual.
  • Coaches and develops staff in the absence of, or as assigned by the Market Retail Coordinator, Director of Retail and Treasury Services or Market President.
    • Supervises Customer Service Associates in the branch.
    • Evaluates the performance of direct reports, coaching to improve performance.
    • Provides quarterly coaching to all direct reports to discuss performance, areas of improvement and career development opportunities
    • Provides recommendations to supervisor for compensation, decisions, hiring and disciplinary action for direct reports.
    • Assign a mentor to work with the new retail staff in the branch.
  • Performs Daily Branch Operations in the absence of, or as assigned by, the Retail Operations Coordinator, Market President or Branch Manager/Supervisor
    • Provide guidance and leadership to branch teller staff
    • Handles unusual or difficult customer problems either through direct personal action or referral to the proper department.
    • Maintains daily bank operations to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed.
    • Oversees office image process.
    • Ensures quality service in opening new accounts, balancing checkbooks and resolving customer problems.
    • Implements company policy pertaining to the cashing of checks and withdrawal of funds from accounts.
    • Processes vault cash order bi-weekly.
    • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cash levels to run at optimum efficiency by coordinating and processing bank cash order for the branch.
    • Responsible for the vault and teller drawer limits in the branch.
    • Manage staff levels for optimum efficiencies and budget, produces monthly teller schedule; monitors and approves time cards.
    • Ensures adequate coverage and efficient service in the branch.
  • Supports the achievement of branch sales goals
    • Coaches and motivates assigned staff in the sales/service of retail banking products
    • Selling/cross-selling bank products
    • Organizing/participating in campaign activities, etc
  • Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding retail products, banking services, ownership and account structure and setup, software capabilities and regulatory compliance as it relates to new deposit accounts, safe deposit boxes and retail operations.
  • Understand Federal, State and Union Sate Bank rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities: May supervise Tellers as assigned by Market Coordinator or as backup to Market Coordinator.

Primary Job Location: Travel to facilities as needed or assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years banking, sales, and prior supervisor experience is preferred. Understand Federal, State and Union State banking rules and regulations. Bank related courses strongly recommended.

Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Word and Excel. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

System Accesses: Fiserv Precision, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

Equipment Used: Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, copier, adding machine, currency counter, coin counter, coin wrapper, and imaging scanner.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Position requires prolonged standing (75%), occasional less than 10% of the time physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc.
Participates in a rotating Saturday schedule to work at a designated location as assigned. Travel to other locations as needed.
