Job Description

**Mostly telework but must live within a 2 hr commute to the Nederland office**

Position Summary
The Accountant, under the general direction of the Director of Accounting and Finance, will assist in the fiscal operations of the Texas Family Care Network (TFCN) and tracking using reports and data from various internal systems. This is a professional working level and requires the ability to independently apply knowledge and analysis of professional accounting principles.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Prepare monthly credit card and bank reconciliations, and associated journal entries.
Prepare monthly invoices and reconciliations with providers and purchased services vendors.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual payment reconciliations with funder.
Prepare funder monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Assist with monthly and annual close process.
Develop and maintain fiscal/internal controls standards of operations.
Recommend accounting related improvements to business practices. Effectively utilizes a variety of data sources, combining extracts from data warehouses, database tables, spreadsheets, etc., to produce helpful information and facilitate decision making.
Understands the dependencies of data from multiple systems and multiple departments.
Conduct fiscal monitoring of providers.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting
One year of public accounting experience
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications required.
Experience with MS Dynamics 365, Concur, EHR systems preferred
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Clearances: State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances; CPSL Mandated Reporter Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation.
