Job Description

The Vice President of Construction is responsible for the implementation of processes and procedures. Follow up and check in to ensure procedures are being followed companywide. Update and maintain operational metrics and reports. Allocate office staff and resources accordingly to ensure Company success.  Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years in commercial construction; multifamily, hospitality, and retail.

The Vice President of Construction reports to the CEO. The position is primarily driven by operations metrics, deliverables, and processes.

Minimize administrative/document control driven risk and maximize productivity companywide.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Responsible for overall company performance and meeting its strategic goals and plans. Also assist in long-term strategic planning.
2. Oversee all aspects of operations finances and ensure profitability goals are obtained.
3. Oversee all resources and management personnel associated with operations.
4. Oversee all aspects of construction to ensure culture, quality, and client satisfaction is obtained.
5. Increase, maintain and ensure accountability companywide on all levels.
6. Work with leadership team on the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Implementation and check-in to ensure processes are being followed daily. Hold leadership team and Company accountable.
7. Identify areas of weakness or risk within the Company, formulate plans to mitigate risk and follow through on execution of those plans.
8. Leadership, mentoring, and promotion of training and professional development within the organization.
9. Prepare and present monthly operational metrics.
10. Check-in on status of deliverables and metrics with all office staff. Diligently track and monitor critical deliverable dates on projects or tasks.
11. Manage and oversee all office construction team, processes, schedules, and ensure accurate / effective management skills are being applied and utilized on multiple projects. Assist in prioritizing critical tasks and time management to ensure key deliverables are met. Allocate staff and resources as needed to address problems or risk areas.
12. Review, track, coordinate, and implement manpower as needed to ensure success and growth goals.
13. Work closely with pre-construction when project is transferring to operations.
14. Work with project team for startup and close out of projects.
15. Recruit and interview future employees. Work with Human Resources to hire and terminate employees as needed.
16. Schedule and administer employee reviews both mid-term and year-end.
17. Conduct office staff meetings to promote Certified General Contractors culture, policies, procedures, teamwork, and technical information along with open roundtable discussions.
