Job Description

Position Summary

The Memory Care Manager provides day to day oversight for the memory care units to ensure residents are engaged in life enriching activities throughout the day and supports the community sales effort through tour giving.

Essential Functions

Leadership and Staff Development

· Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and development of memory care staff that provide exceptional service and care for our residents.

· Set clear behavioral expectations and performance objectives for direct reports.

· Ensure that the memory care environment is one that promotes community and the provision of life enriching activities throughout the day.

Outreach and Sales

· Promote a customer services culture in the memory care unit, ensuring that every staff person understands the role they play in growing and maintaining occupancy.

· Initiate new and nurture existing relationships with health care providers, referral sources and resident families to increase the referral base for the community.

· Facilitate educational and networking events for the community and stakeholder network to spread the message about the community.

· Partner with the Community Sales Director and corporate marketing staff to ensure the community is visible within the market area and beyond.

Operations Management

· Work with the Resident Care Director to ensure the memory care unit operates successfully within the established budget.

· Partner with the Resident Care Director to develop an innovative staffing schedule that maximizes efficiency while ensuring exceptional resident care.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or Licensed Practical Nurse in a relevant industry discipline. Equivalent years of career experience in a similar capacity may be considered.

· Successful experience working in a memory care environment or providing care/services to seniors with Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia.

Preferred Qualifications

· Two to three years of experience leading a program or division of a senior living community.

Physical Working Requirements

· Ability to travel using personal vehicle, including at night.

· Able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

· Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends.

· Employee is subject to outside environment conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.

This is an on-call position and requires participation in weekend rotations.
