Digital Outreach Coordinator


The LAM Foundation is the global leader in the fight against lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a rare lung disease that strikes young women, often in the prime of their lives. A 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Foundations mission is: To urgently seek safe and effective treatments, and ultimately a cure, for lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) through advocacy and the funding of promising research. We are dedicated to serving the scientific, medical, and patient communities by offering information, resources, and a worldwide network of hope and support.


The Digital Outreach Coordinators primary role is to lead content creation and communications outreach activities in support of The LAM Foundations programs and services. This position will support all aspects of the Foundation across media channels and will strive to uphold the Foundations goal of being the most up-to-date and respected source of information about lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM).


This Digital Outreach Coordinator role is in the office and typically works 40 hours a week, Monday Friday. However, there will be times when weekend and/or evening hours are required for LAM Events.


Position Responsibilities:


Content Development:

  • Coordinate the production of all collateral material for outreach purposes including but not limited to booth materials, printed materials, brochures, and videos.
  • Collect, write, edit and distribute up-to-date and relevant content from a spectrum of sources including Foundation staff and volunteers (Board, scientists), scientific journals, Foundation produced events/webinars, patients, family members and other external sources.


Communications & Outreach:

  • Create unified, engaging, and audience-driven messaging across all social media platforms that establishes an emotional connection to The LAM Foundations mission.
  • Lead and facilitate periodic outreach campaigns for various purposes such as clinical trial enrollment, event promotion, and fundraising campaigns.


Website Management:

  • Publish content on the website, maintaining continuity of themes, layout, and navigation. Monitor and troubleshoot SEO standing and implement strategies for increasing online presence for our LAM patient and scientific communities.
  • Troubleshoot interfaces between the website and other utilized digital products including but not limited to Salesforce, Classy and Mailchimp as needed.


Newsletter Creation & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with CEO, Development and Communications Director, and Scientific Director to produce monthly e-newsletter, blogs, and any ad hoc digital publications.
  • Participate in editorial meetings, coordinate articles, edit and write stories, and coordinate layout with graphic designer.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms required
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong project and calendar management skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns and projects required
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • CRM experience (Salesforce) preferred
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and website maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge of email marketing tools (Mailchimp) and fundraising platforms (Classy) a plus
