SUMMARY:
The Safety Coordinator has the responsibility to implement/manage internal safety programs aimed at minimizing safety risks, maintain proper documentation and conduct safety training, and assure site compliance with state and federal safety regulations
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a zero injury/incident safety culture across the field operations • Assist and deliver safety training in new hire orientation and ongoing safety trainings
- Provides technical and regulatory support as needed, including participation in regulatory visits or field inspections • Ensures and coordinate immediate response/reporting of all near misses, incidents, accidents and emergencies
- Performs on-site safety and quality audits
- Assess jobsite to determine if the scope of work can be safely performed
- Assess that field workers are performing required daily and on-site safety checks
- Assist in the documentation and investigation of incidents Assist in reporting all serious injuries immediately to Workers’ Compensation, OSHA and other required safety reports
- Communicate and deliver on goals, objectives, policies and priorities for improving safety practices, performance and programs
- Screens and analyzes data to take necessary measures to reduce injuries, accidents, incidents operationally while reducing costs and providing supporting documentation
- Coach and recognize workers on safe work methods, report all incidents in an effective and timely manner and be a champion in motivating workers to perform their jobs safely
- Assist operations personnel in development of Site Specific Safety Plan and Job Hazard Analyses as applicable
- Ensure compliance of employees and contractors at job sites with HSE regulations and company policy Stop work where violations of HSE policy or regulation can be seen and consult with operations personnel to council employees/contractors as appropriate
- Conduct safety meetings with employees and contractors
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with HSE regulations and company policy
- Write accident reports and conduct follow up investigation and root cause analysis as needed
- Provide recommendations for onsite safety improvements • Interact with customer and applicable local/state/federal officials when needed
- Request environmental testing as needed
SKILLS
- Basic computer applications experience with MS-Office Suite (excel, word, outlook etc.)Excellent communication and advisory skills Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional and discretionary manner
- Proven analytical skills reflecting the ability to be proactive with ability to pay keen attention to the smallest of details
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Bilingual a plus Education
- High School Diploma or some college
- OSHA 30 Certification
- First Aid/CPR training Work Experience
- 2 – 4 years of related experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
- BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
