Assistant Safety Manager

● $22-25 Depending on experience

● Mon-Fri 6:00 am to 3:00 pm with 1 hour lunch

● Overtime and anytime beyond scheduled shift must be approved prior to shift

Position Summary The Assistant Safety Manager plays a critical role in maintaining Tidewater Staffing, Inc.'s comprehensive safety and health program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a safe work environment for all associates. This role is part of the Safety Team.2341 Key Responsibilities ● Assist in Program Management & Compliance

○ Annually review and update the Safety and Health Program with Safety Management to ensure it is consistent with good operating practices and maintains compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations, including State or Federal OSHA and Fire Codes.2

○ Evaluate the Plan's safety performance against established objectives and goals.2

○ Provide a reliable system for associates to report unsafe practices that are free from retaliation.34 ● Inspections and Investigations

○ Conduct a program of safety and health inspections to discover and correct unsafe working conditions or practices and control health hazards.2

○ Perform Job Hazard Assessments (JHA’s), Site Inspections, and Post Incident Investigations on job sites.34

○ Investigate every accident promptly to find its cause and correct the problem in order to prevent recurrence.2

○ Review and discuss incidents, investigations, and JHAs in weekly Safety Team meetings.3 ● Host Employer & Client Coordination

○ Work closely with the Host Employer (Client) to ensure associates are properly trained and are working in a safe environment.34

○ Proactively notify Host Employers of any potential issues and verify the Host Employer is acting in accordance with OSHA standards.34

○ Connect all Host Employers with a member of the Safety Team.3

● Training & Enforcement

○ Train all employees on good safety and health practices.2

○ Ensure the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided along with instructions for its use and care.2

○ Assist in developing and enforcing safety and health rules, requiring all employees to cooperate as a condition of employment.2 Assistant Safety Manager requirements: ○ HS diploma ○ Reliable transportation and able to travel at last moment’s notice ○ Available and on-time for shift. ○ Must be able to handle a high-volume and fast paced environment. ○ Problem-solver, able to multitask and strong customer service skills. ○ Consistent Transportation ○ Able to gain access to local shipyards and warehouses ○ Willing to go on-site to a workspace (shipyard or warehouse ○ Bilingual is a plus ○ Military/ Shipyard experience ○ Type 35 wpm or better
