Human Resources & Volunteer Services Project Management Internship

Program Description:

The role of the Human Resource and Volunteer Services (HRVS) Division is to: 1) actively recruit and retain staff, volunteers, and interns whose values and skills align with the Museum's mission; 2) design and implement staff and volunteer programs that value and encourage individual professional growth and teamwork; and 3) assist in creating a comfortable working environment that supports the diversity of our staff and volunteers.

Position Summary:

The HRVS Project Management Intern will be immersed in a comprehensive learning experience, focusing on compliance and organizational aspects. Working closely with the Chief People Office and the executive assistant, the HRVS Project Management Intern will ensure that all files meet compliance standards, and explore innovative approaches to file management within our division, aligning with federal and state regulations. Additionally, they will enhance their customer service skills by serving as the primary point of contact for our division, welcoming staff to our offices and providing assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and update personnel files to comply with regulations.
  • Research and suggest new filing methods.
  • Help develop and implement filing systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow company policies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.

  • Attention to detail: Being meticulous in ensuring files are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Customer service skills: Ability to interact professionally with staff and provide assistance.

  • Tech-savviness: Familiarity with digital filing systems and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support team goals.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify issues in file management and propose effective solutions.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
  • Interest or knowledge in Human Resources & compliance
  • Commitment to DEAIB practices (Diversity, Equity, Access, Inclusion, & Belonging)


Length of internship: Semester (12 weeks)

Work Schedule: 7 hours/day (9-5 with 1 hour lunch) 2-3 days per week.

Salary: $15.00 - $15.25
