JOB SUMMARY
Provides service to customers regarding daily transactions including receiving deposits, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and disbursing cash. Answers questions and resolves problems for customers and other employees. Performs other assignments or duties as required, up to and including Assistant Head Teller duties when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Follow required procedures adhering to the banks processes and the regulations set by the Federal Reserve.
Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts and check endorsements; examines cash to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
Cashes checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy.
Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts.
Counts cash balance at beginning of shift and balances cash and checks against computer records at end of shift.
Prepares various monetary documents as requested.
Explains bank services and charges to customers.
Observes suspicious behavior and reports any such activity to head teller and/or security personnel as appropriate. In the event of a robbery, remains calm and follows bank procedures to safeguard customers and staff.
Regular and punctual attendance.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Complete work and meet deadlines as scheduled.
Assist as needed in the Operations Department.

COMPETENCIES

Ability to use a computer to enter data efficiently and accurately.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Possess Customer service skills.
Possess problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Successful completion of in-house training program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalency
Experience in Operations or banking field for
- Teller III (Experienced) more than 5 years
- Teller II (Mid-Level) more than 3 years
- Teller I (Entry Level) less than 3 years

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Use of keyboard, mouse for more than 5 hours.
Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Sit for more than 3 hours.
Stand for more than 3 hours.
Ability to use hands for fine manipulation for more than 5 hours.

SECURITY RESPONSIBILITY

Maintain confidentiality of customer and proprietary bank information.
