Our client is seeking a Sr. Accountant. This position is a key member of the Finance Team.

Position Summary: Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare assigned monthly journal entries within Workday Financials. Prepare monthly reconciliations for all assigned Balance sheet accounts, including documentation to support all balances.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining fixed assets sub ledger, which includes recording newly added fixed assets, tracking existing assets, and calculating and recording depreciation/amortization, as well as accounting for disposed fixed assets. Update tax fixed asset ledger.
  • Coordinate and prepare inventory cycle quarterly sheets/reports. Reconcile/analyze inventory on-hand and physical inventory count. Monitor and report on inventory, shrink, as well as, ad hoc analysis, and other inventory/shrink related projects.
  • Maintain and manage Corporate Credit Card Program.
  • Assist with maintenance and recording of lease accounting journal entries, assist with property tax returns and other tax matters. Assist in managing and reviewing intercompany accounts.
  • Maintains deferred rent schedules.
  • Record and update Payroll and accrued liability schedules
  • Perform ad hoc projects, reporting and analysis as deemed necessary. Assist with internal and external financial audits, as well as tax audits.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions; assists with review of items prepared by accounting clerical staff.
  • Prepares ad hoc/special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends for both Finance and Operations.
  • Works with operations to ensure timely collection of Tenant Improvement Allowance reimbursements.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Effectively communicates with Accounts Payable, Payroll and other departments.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Interfaces with external auditors to provide supporting documentation as needed during annual audits.
  • Responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies regarding taxes.
  • Acts with honesty and integrity in all business transactions, including, but not limited to, employment applications/resumes, patient records, time records, and financial transactions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of experience in Corporate Finance or Accounting, public accounting auditing experience a plus.
  • Experience in multi-site healthcare operations
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong knowledge of finance technologies, protocols, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in closing monthly accounting records in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lead a team, work well in a team and independently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of confidence.
  • Must be able to work proactively and under pressure. Some after-hour and weekend work may be required.
  • Comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced, customer-focused organization with start-up culture with evolving processes. Flexible and able to adapt to new situations as the business demands.
  • Graduate Level Degree or CPA designation is a plus
