Starting Salary: 88,067/yr +DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Job Summary
The IT Manager manages information technology systems for the organization and provides support, direction, supervision, and coaching to the IT staff. This position will play a critical role in influencing technology decision making and providing valuable insights to the leadership team. This position also organizes and conducts analysis and research pertaining to technology systems, quality improvement, and efficiency. The analysis and research generated will contribute to strategic decision making to maintain optimal IT services. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise Information Technology (IT) Department staff, provide coaching and performance management, and oversee staff development.
  • Support internal and external technology needs of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain reports and logs for network routers, firewalls, and cloud-based systems, including Microsoft 365 and cloud-based telephone system.
  • Perform regular network audits to ensure security practices are compliant with industry standards.
  • Provide system troubleshooting and diagnostics, as issues are reported, and utilize external resources and consultants, as needed, to resolve problems.
  • Utilize skills and available technology to maintain 100% up-time of the data and communication networks.
  • Oversee and assist in development and optimization of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Enhance and maintain existing IT Department policies, procedures and forms.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation of IT Department processes and workflows.
  • Provide peer review of open and closed Help Desk tickets and reports, to ensure a high standard of quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Partner with health centers and OCHIN to move collaborative work forward.
  • Take ownership of new software and other technology-related implementation projects.
  • Ability to handle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

HIPAA Requirements

The Information Technology Manager has access to PHI as part of their standard duties to maintain data and communication networks.  Applying the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA, the designated record sets to which this employee will have access include: all sections of the medical record, patient demographic information in the practice management system, and incoming records, reports, results, consultations, etc. The Information Technology Manager is required to read the content of these records only to the extent needed to accomplish the assigned task (e.g. reviewing an Excel file or troubleshooting a printing issue in Epic). 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft collaboration and business platforms and tools like Teams and SharePoint Online.
  • Ability to analyze system logs using statistical software.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and carry out technology related projects.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and Project). 
  • Proficiency in Cisco or Fortinet command-line and GUI interfaces preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for maximum up-time of technology systems and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare clinic operations and medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in problem solving, network analysis and interpretation, and customer relations.

  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally out-of-town.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field AND five years of experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in network equipment set up, maintenance, and management.
  • Lean process improvement training and/or experience preferred.
  • Experience in project management leadership.
  • Experience mentoring/leading a team preferred.
  • Experience with Fortinet equipment and/or Epic a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure preferred.
