Job title: Vice President of People

Total compensation: Starting at $228k - $320k a year, depending on experience + Profit Sharing

Schedule: Monday-Friday with the working hours falling between a 7 am to 5 pm window, with extra hours and weekend work as needed.

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon

As a member of the Executive leadership team and reporting to the CEO, the VP of People will lead the development and execution of a strategy and vision for Human Resources and Culture that aligns and supports PARR's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

They will partner closely with executive leadership to provide guidance and leadership for PARR's talent management goals, with a focus on recruitment and retention, employee engagement, staff learning and development, and internal communications. They will provide expertise in setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices.

The VP of People will utilize the company's FACE values, purpose, vision, and mission, as guides to lead their team and achieve goals. This is accomplished through servant leadership and effective team management. The VP of People is a driver of culture, and a seasoned change agent with the ability to build trusting relationships across all levels of the organization and understand the big picture while managing the day-to-day.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is required
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred
  • Certification including SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred
  • 10 - 15 years progressive human resources leadership experience, including direct experience in developing a values-based high-performance culture
  • Strong computer skills, including strong experience with HR software, UKG preferred
  • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide leadership at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Executive Team to create a and cultivate strong relationships and partnerships at all levels within an organization to achieve results
  • Knowledge of human resources best practices, employment law, employee relations, and compensation/benefits
  • Ability to balance employee needs and concerns with company values, goals, and objectives
  • Driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Mergers and Acquisitions experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • In partnership with the CEO, creates and drives a high-performance culture.
    • Links purpose to culture, measures and communicates the culture, and holds leadership accountable for the culture promise.
    • Provides feedback and guidance, works to maximize executive team effectiveness, and identifies, coaches, and develops key organizational talent.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to establish PARR's vision, strategic direction, and long-term goals; identifies ways to support this vision through proactive talent recruitment, management, and development strategies.
  • Establishes overall vision, strategic direction, and long-term goals for Human Resources and Company Culture.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to executive team.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with employees and establish easy communication channels across the organization to seek input, problem solve, inform, and ensure employee needs are met; maintain a close pulse on the needs of the organization and its staff, with a focus on supporting employee needs.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of all internally focused communications.
  • Directs the development and administration of an equitable compensation system that is competitive and commensurate with the Company's compensation philosophy. Conducts regular review of market wages and benefits and informs leadership of any gaps.
  • Oversees the development and administration of the Company benefit programs and services that support the Company's benefit philosophy, implementing cost-containment strategies as appropriate
  • Directs the planning and implementation of policies and programs that promote the safety and well-being of team members
    • Oversees the development and administration of environmental health, safety, wellness, and security programs that mitigate risk to employees, meet regulatory requirements, and achieve Health, Safety, Wellness, and Security goals
  • Leads the organization in change management. Challenges the status quo, plans organizational changes, and coaches on effective change management
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and administration of the Company's continuous feedback system (surveys, Town Halls, manager meetings) which links organizational and individual goals with the Company's strategic business objectives.
  • Drafts and implements the budget for the HR and Culture departments

People Development

  • Oversees the design and implementation of results-driven training and development strategies that support both Company and employee needs.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of key leadership, and in partnership with the Board of Directors, plans and supports executive team member succession planning
  • Provides expertise to predict, prevent and resolve employee relations issues that could create significant legal, regulatory, operational, and financial exposure to the Company
  • Consistently encourages and promotes employee growth and career advancement
  • Works to maintain strong retention in all managed positions
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Directors of Culture and HR
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Ensures professional relationships are established and maintained with internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
  • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
  • Both local and overnight travel will be required
