Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The VP of Distribution is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the LVMH Beauty Division’s distribution operations. This individual will play a critical role in developing and executing strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution processes, timely delivery of products, and exceptional customer satisfaction. The VP of Distribution will lead a high-performing team, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution function. 

The VP of Distribution leads a network of 4 warehouses throughout North America and animates large teams of LVMH employees and 3PL employees. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the distribution function aligned with overall company objectives. 

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and communicate the vision and goals for the distribution department. 

  • Stand as a reliable partner to the LVMH brands by maintaining a strong business relationship with HQ’s operations management, sharing best practices. 

  • Define short/mid/long term vision for LVMH Beauty warehouses in North America, as well as the strategies to deliver and execute the action steps to anticipate the business growth

Team Leadership: 

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams to ensure the achievement of LVMH expansion in North America.  

  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

Operational Excellence: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. 

  • Implement best practices to optimize inventory management, order processing, and shipping procedures. 

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as safety, percentage of customer claims, respect of On Time, stock accuracy, efficiency, etc. and implement corrective actions as needed. 

  • Oversee the Distribution Centers to meet required service levels. 

  • Implement and enforce procedures and instructions related to activities, ensuring adherence to safety requirements for people, products, facilities, and transportation. 

  • Manage projects and action plans to ensure a high level of customer service, cost optimization, quality control, and safety. 

  • Establish and monitor the budgets for the organization. 

  • Drive the P&L for the departments. 

Network Optimization: 

  • Evaluate and optimize the distribution network for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

  • Identify opportunities for expansion, consolidation, or relocation of distribution centers. 

Technology Integration: 

  • Stay current with advancements in distribution technology and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with the IT department to integrate and optimize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies. 

Vendor and Carrier Management: 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, carriers, and logistics partners. 

  • Negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements, and drive cost savings initiatives. 

Compliance and Safety: 

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to distribution operations. 

  • Implement and maintain safety protocols to create a secure and accident-free work environment. 

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. 

  • Implement lean principles and other methodologies to enhance overall distribution efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (15+ years) in a senior leadership role within distribution, logistics, or supply chain management. 

  • 15-20% travel

  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain best practices and emerging trends  

  • Knowledge and understanding of Distribution detailed processes and applications (including WMS system, 5S methodology) 

  • Fluency of English, Spanish and French is a plus 

  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills. 

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $225k-$250k.
