Senior Network Engineer

Mastech Digital provides digital and mainstream technology staff as well as Digital Transformation Services for all American Corporations. Location: Enon, OH - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Role Description: As a Senior Network Engineer, you must have at least 8+ years of experience. For this role, you must be comfortable working in a challenging and diverse environment to assist with the installation, configuration and management of the network infrastructure.

You will also provide direct support to internal team members and external clients via phone, email, chat or in person. You should be self-motivated and have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Must be a strong team player able to collaborate with others. A CCNP or higher certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Design, Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer issues within the company network.

O Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for the company’s network infrastructure.

O Resolve incidents directly with end users and record detailed actions in ticketing tool.

O Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to ensure the network stays operational.

O Escalate issues to the next level of support if unable to resolve in a timely manner.

- Ensure all aspects of the entire enterprise cloud networks are architecturally sound and highly available.

- Research existing and emerging technologies that align with business requirements and provide effective solutions based upon extensive professional experience, industry best practices, knowledge of industry technologies through formal training and/or self-study.

- Install and implement network hardware components and cables in data centers and corporate offices.

- Perform approved network changes according to procedures with minimal business disruption.

- Understand and perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs and patches.

- Develop and maintain accurate network support documentation in a knowledge repository.

- Perform network performance monitoring, trending and capacity planning for the LAN, WLAN, MAN and WAN

- Other duties as assigned.

“Must Have” Specific Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of connectivity of datacenter endpoints such as compute and storage devices.

- Understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud networking and infrastructure best practices.

- Understanding of network security best practices.

- Understanding of migration requirements from physical data centers to the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.

- Understanding of network traffic flow between prem and cloud environments.

- Critical analysis of network design for optimal network traffic flow.

- Expert knowledge and understanding of common network protocols.

- Proven experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting firewall configurations.

- Skilled in hybrid networking environments – connecting on-prem to cloud networks (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).

- Experience with Integration (Datacenter, O365, Oracle, SAP), Services, and Business Process Management for global solutions.

- Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations.

- Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work both independently of immediate supervision and in a team environment.

- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills and Other Requirements:

- 8+ years’ experience actively supporting large–scale programs and projects delivering technology solutions.

- 5+ years’ experience as a collaborative technical leader/consultant

Education and Experience:

- Bachelors/4 years degree

- 8+ years of relevant work experience.

- Certified as appropriate, in the discipline of practice (Data, Infrastructure, Network, Security, Solutions or Application).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent

Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses
