Job description

Designer for Embroidery Digitizing (San Diego)

PRO digitizing

compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 an hour depending on experience.

Employment type: full-time

Job title: Digitizer

PRO digitizing is a small family of designers and professionals looking for a new family member to help lead us to the next level. Our virtual doors opened in 2004, servicing the embroidery and apparel industry with digitizing services. You may not be familiar with apparel or embroidery, but don't let that scare you away. As long as you are curious and love to learn, we'll take care of teaching you the rest. What we need is an energetic and creative designer to deliver our industry-leading embroidery design services. We are in search of a creative designer who possesses strong technical abilities and is interested in learning a new medium. If you are interested in a unique industry and think you have what it takes to learn, we want to meet you!

The designer who joins us will work in a small team of designers alongside our customer service specialists and will work through many designs each day. While your primary role will be working on the designs, customer contact will also be a part of your day -- answering technical questions, clarifying requests, and assisting with technical issues. You will communicate with our customers via phone and email. Your goal is to interpret our customer's digital design for a physical medium while ensuring technical compatibility. Attention to detail and a strong grasp of how machines, fabrics, and threads interact will become the basis of your technical toolset. Our company is small in numbers, but the opportunities to learn and contribute are endless. You will have plenty of room to grow your skills and apply your interests. We are innovators and creatives looking to provide the best service and highest quality product to our clients. You should be ready for a new challenge every day.

Job Description

  • Digitize designs for embroidery
  • Conduct quality assurance for designs digitized for embroidery
  • Efficiently evaluate and approve digitizing based on acceptance standards
  • Discuss design changes and issues with customers via phone and email
  • Work with customers on challenging designs - understanding their problem and then helping to find an appropriate solution (this often requires significant troubleshooting and research)
  • Vectorize images and adjust artwork for use in web, screen printing, and embroidery digitizing
  • Additional projects based on your interests may be assigned as the day-to-day workload varies. These could include website design, ad design, original content production, programming, and marketing.

Requirements

  • Note: Neither embroidery nor embroidery digitizing experience is required.
  • 2+ years of computer graphics design experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, any CAD or 3D design software, or similar design software.
  • Agility in learning new concepts quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for technical challenges.
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential characteristics of a good candidate.
  • Spanish language is a plus, but not required.

Offer

  • We offer competitive pay, health benefits, and paid time off.
  • Our standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
  • Our office is in the Eastlake neighborhood of Chula Vista.
  • This position is full-time and available immediately.
  • For more details about our company, visit PROdigitizing.com.
  • Under our remote work policy, our team typically works in the office Tuesday through Thursday and remotely on Monday and Friday. However, this schedule is subject to change at any time, including requiring additional in-office days, based on business needs and workload.
