Who We Are:

At Journal Technologies, we believe our technology can be a force for good in the world ensuring the proper and efficient functioning of some of the most foundational aspects of society - the courts and justice system.

We create and implement enterprise software that supports the administration of justice, currently in the United States, Canada, and Australia. While our eSeries product suite enables governments and their employees to deliver continued foundational court processes, our R&D focuses on leveraging emerging possibilities with technology to improve access and efficiency.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Journal Technologies is a long-time, wholly-owned subsidiary of Daily Journal Corporation (NASDAQ: DJCO). We also have a major office in Logan, Utah, a team in Melbourne, Australia, and a growing number of remote staff across North America and the world.

Under our next generation of leadership, we're implementing a new vision for the company that prioritizes building an extraordinary workplace with empowered people at the heart of our business. Great people want to collaborate with great people, and we are actively looking for smart, motivated people who care deeply about the work they do.

Sales Engineer:

The Sales Engineer will have a key role in the sales process for our eSeries applications. This role performs demonstrations to our prospects and does so in a way that shows the application’s ability to meet their requirements and conveys this information as a business expert using terms that the prospects understand. These team members also support sales and marketing efforts as we prepare proposals in response to RFPs and RFIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare to deliver eSeries application demonstrations of eCourt, eProsecutor, eDefender and eSupervision across our four markets: Courts, Prosecutors, Defenders, and Supervision.
  • Work closely with the sales team to create customized proposals/product demonstrations for clients.
  • Develop, update and practice a set of JTI product demonstration scripts for each product.
  • Become certified in a demonstration program for each of the four products.
  • Provide input for demonstration seed scripts that prepare demonstration environments with metadata so that the environments always have fresh cases, persons, charges, etc.
  • Assist Account Executives after they have taken their first pass at RFP/I matrices and other questions.
  • Conduct product training sessions for sales teams to enhance their understanding of technical aspects and selling points.
  • Develop training materials and documentation for internal and external use.
  • Attending and delivering demonstrations at specific trade shows – namely those where there is a high likelihood that attendees will ask for demonstrations and/or when our show attendance includes showcase presentations.
  • Advise the product teams regarding functionality that the market is seeking.
  • Establish personal Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to advance the above.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (oral, written & presentation).
  • Ability to perform software demonstrations without engineer support.
  • Willing to travel as required to meet directly with prospects.
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet and a business-oriented office space free of distractions.
  • Subject matter expertise in Courts, Prosecutors, Defenders or Supervision departments is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful participation as an implementation staff member in eSupervision or eCourt projects for at least two years.
  • 2 + years’ experience working directly with courts or supervision departments.
  • 2+ years’ experience demonstrating enterprise software.

The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job function. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned.
