Location: Tustin, CA (Hybrid)

Relocating HQ Mid-2024: Newport Beach, CA (Hybrid)**

Travel: Up to 10% of domestic travel

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Scope of the Role

The Category manager monitors competitive sellers and products and communicates market trends while creating and executing sales and marketing strategies and initiatives across Amazon, Walmart, Target and other online retail sites. The role also provides input and insight into the product development team to inform the development of the catalog of products as well as input that informs that helps steer creative execution of product content. This position also communicates and works directly with counterparts at retail partners and will help steer channel sales and influence account-level strategy for each partner site.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Learn and own an assigned category or categories within the BCP catalog.
  • Partner with Senior Management to create and maintain a business plan for each set of unique skus detailing out target market share and sales ranking hoping to acquire / maintain within relevant markets.
  • Provide and maintain a rolling 12–15-month sales and inventory forecasts within assigned product verticals based on current and expected sales performance, competitor listings, and market trends.
  • Monitor key indicators of the listings’ health and search ranking on assigned portion across multiple selling channels.
  • Monitor sales channels, key competitive listings, and key promotional marketing events to identify maximize opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Execute planned catalog pricing, including everyday pricing + authorized promotional pricing and periodic price drops.
  • Participate in discussions influencing product content creation based on market and competitive research.
  • Monitor product listings and search rankings to optimize conversion opportunities.
  • Identify and contribute relevant items for cross-selling strategies.
  • Deliver product-oriented sales pitches to drive or influence merchandising placements across network of selling partners.
  • Provide product insight into advertising team for campaign planning (such as seasonal trends, product performance, inventory position)
  • Analyze performance of advertising campaigns in relation to GMV performance, ACOS and ROAS
  • Build, maintain and evolve strong relationships with our marketplace partners where available to drive merchandising and promotional placements.
  • Provide direction on product content creation based on market & competitive research to be delivered to creative team.
  • Generate keyword reporting for catalog listings, new & existing utilizing tools for relevant search terms.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve processes and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by management.

What You Will Need for Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years online retail experience in a category management, sales, or merchandising capacity
  • Knowledge of online marketplace retail operations, best practices, and guidelines (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc)
  • Experienced with selling on Amazon through FBA and seller fulfilled models.
  • Experienced in external sales communication and account management.
  • Passionate about competing in constant evolving situations and customer obsessed.
  • Experienced with third party ecommerce business operation software tools (Jungle Scout, Helium, Google Analytics, Stackline, Brand Analytics)
  • Knowledgeable in key indicators of listing health including sales ranking, category ranking and search results.
  • Motivated, persistent self-starter who is results-driven and analytical.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
