The Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, manage, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and systems pertaining to staff ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.


Your Day-to-Day: (Essential Functions)

  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation sessions and training.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.Support summer/seasonal staff hiring and on-boarding.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues. Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding HR-related matters.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Provides coaching and mediation for conflicts.  Promote a positive and inclusive work culture that values diversity and respect.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS).
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance. Administer claims management for Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment claims.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develop and implement a departmental budget.
  • Handle supply orders, swag, and staff recognition and events.
  • Represent Camp Korey at hiring fairs and community-related events as needed. Participate in industry seminars, when appropriate, involving human resources issues. Participate and assist in special committees, activities, and projects with Camp Korey and community organizations (e.g., SFCN, ACA, etc.) as necessary and appropriate.
  • Perform all special projects and assignments as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

 

What You Need to Bring to the Team: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements)

  • [Education/Experience] A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience and training. Five years of human resource management experience desired. 
  • [Core Competencies] Possess the following competencies: excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, composure, teamwork orientation, and confidentiality. Must provide exceptional customer service, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be highly detail-oriented. Must be able to work independently and gain the trust of a diverse work team to promote high levels of productivity and morale. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. This position does not supervise any direct reports.
  • [Computer & Other Skills] Demonstrated proficiency with computer hardware and software required to perform duties. Experience with Bamboo HR is a plus.
  • [Certifications/Licenses/Registrations] SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or HRCI certification is preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.
  • [Physical Demands] Physical ability to perform all essential functions of the job. Physical demands include repetitive computer usage, including visual acuity and sitting at a computer workstation; hearing, speaking, and understanding the spoken word; occasional lifting, carrying, and putting away parcels weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • [Medical] Compliance with vaccination policy to include proof of current vaccinations, including annual flu shot and COVID booster.
  • [Other Requirements] Following an offer of employment and before starting work, pass a criminal background check at no cost to you.
