Outdoor Cap delivers high quality product. The Quality Control Coordinator ensures that the final product meets the company’s quality standards. Must be a self-starter and big-picture thinker, willing to work with a team, and able to work alone.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for both general and specific quality control and assurance tasks geared for continuous process improvement
  • Evaluate internal embroidery production and patch operation quality daily, track results and coordinate reporting and findings with senior management
  • Evaluate and review Salesforce input and processes with a view to track data accuracy, case error rates, client communication, and coordinate reporting and findings with senior management
  • Evaluate and review customer requests and designs against in-house replication and samples
  • Evaluate data and order accuracy in pick-pack and value-add with a focus to reduce lost and inaccurate deliveries
  • Evaluate imported product compared to the approved physical sample (Product Development) and details on the purchase order (Order Management): All product is checked for correct fabric, color, dimensions, circumference, artwork quality and color of artwork, labels, hangtags, stickers, and packaging. UPC# is confirmed correct and test scanned as deemed necessary. Cap construction details are monitored closely including stitching (crooked, lose or untrimmed threads), alignment of components, and shape or blocking discrepancies.
  • Record findings and report issues or concerns to management in timely manner: document defects on Defect Report used to track communication with internal partners (sales, purchasing, accounting) and with the supplier. Meet with Purchasing Director regularly to update status until product is released of destroyed.
  • Update inventory status in ERP system to prevent defective product from being shipped
    (Lock questionable inventory, unlock (release) when deemed good, adjust out of inventory if unsellable)
  • Assist with investigation of customer complaints. Track back to root cause and isolate all affected inventory.
  • Evaluate what product needs to be checked using the Transfer/Receiving Worksheets – this worksheet is used to determine the number of hats that should be checked from each incoming order, and to identify all incoming Top Samples that must be quickly checked prior to shipping to customers.
  • Bentonville is the Home Base for all OC locations; Bentonville, California, Legendary and Junk. All quality assurance processes are developed and shared throughout the company: the QC Coordinator collaborates with other DCs on any issues that are potentially at other location, by identifying the issue and an advising detailed plan to remediate the problem.
  • Update QC Report used by Business Intelligence team for KPI and by Accounting team to track factory chargebacks
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communicator (visual, written and verbal) and a creative thinker with the ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Highly collaborative, able to establish and maintain relationships
  • Excellent time management, multi-task oriented, organized, and keen sense of personal accountability.
  • Is highly motivated with strong work ethics and demonstrated flexibility to meet tight deadlines

Education and Qualifications

  • Education High School Diploma
  • Experience 5 + years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions
  • Stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling, crouching, reaching, and grasping
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds
  • Moderate physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 50 pounds), must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Must be tolerant of seasonal changes in a warehouse with no temperature control.

(Hot in the summer and cold in the winter).
