Who We Serve: EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Position Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operations while meeting customer demands and company goals. They will evaluate transportation processes and policies, identifying areas that require improvement and implementing changes. The Director of Operations is responsible for improving efficiency, tracking progress, and optimizing vehicle efficiencies and drivers. In addition to supervising staff, the Director of Operations will coordinate with other departments within the organization, such as sales, Human Resources, and finance, to ensure alignment and consistent messaging. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.?

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily operations of passenger transportation services
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and improve customer satisfaction
• Monitor key performance indicators and provide performance reports for drivers and vehicles to senior management
• Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and laws governing transportation industry
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and vendors
• Develop and implement contingency plans and procedures for emergencies or disruptions to service
• Ensure high standards of safety and security for passengers
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and changes
• Participate in candidate screening, interviews, training, and employee onboarding
• Supervise and train staff to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures
• Coaching and developing existing employees
• Supporting problem resolution and decision-making
• Translating corporate goals into functional and individual goals

Education, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, or Logistics
• Proven experience in a director-level operations role, with a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in operations management.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operations management, and cross-functional leadership. Ability to set and execute a strategic vision, foster collaboration, and drive operational excellence.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with a track record of translating data into actionable insights.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to effectively influence and collaborate at all organizational levels and with both internal and external partners.
• A solid understanding of the passenger transportation industry, DOT, and dispatch software
• Proven experience in change management and driving transformation through an organization.
