Mechanic/Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Bilingual - English & Spanish)

WHO WE ARE:

We are a textile recycling/manufacturing company located in Irvington, NJ specializing in Food Packaging for Shipping of Refrigerated and Frozen ingredients as well as the manufacturing of Mattress Components and Insulator Pads by recycling fibers.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, and willing to work OT and occasional Saturdays, if needed. Hours are 3:30pm-12:00am.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

As a 2nd shift Mechanic/Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of 2nd shift production operations and managing all production personnel within their designated areas as well as performing any needed maintenance. (Shredding, Hammermill, Paper Airlay, Mattress Airlay, Packaging Line, or Night Shift.). The Mechanic/Supervisor position is a union position.

• Provide support for all needed resources within their designated area.
• Control all efficiencies associated within their designated area.
• Abide by all aspects of safety within the plant, which include OSHA standards.
• Ensure all Line Workers are following all aspects of safety within the plant.
• Ensure quality based on customer specifications.
• Assigning, or delegating responsibility for specified work or functional activities within their area.
• Training new employees.
• Assist with planning and organizing daily activities related to production and operations.
• Perform any needed maintenance
• Performing other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Qualifications):

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent desired
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
• Must have 3-5 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and be willing to perform maintenance
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)
• 3+ years of forklift experience
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., multiple times a day
• Able to communicate with others
• Good organization skills
