Job description

Job Title: International Service Technician Company: Cleveland Tool and Machine

About Us: Cleveland Tool and Machine is a premier manufacturer of custom automated machinery. We are expanding our team and looking for a skilled International Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and commission our equipment at customer facilities worldwide, as well as support operations in-house.

The Role: As an International Service Technician, you will be the face of our company globally, responsible for on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial manufacturing machinery across our international and domestic customer base. When not traveling, you will work hands-on at our facility assisting with new machine builds and providing remote (phone/virtual) troubleshooting support to our global customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel extensively internationally and domestically to customer sites (we currently sell to 22 different countries).
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and fluid power systems on custom industrial machinery.
  • Assist the engineering and manufacturing teams with new machine builds on the shop floor between travel assignments.
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting to global customers via phone or video calls.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on our machinery and international industry standards.
  • Plus any other assigned tasks

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems in industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical prints (Note: You will be tested on this during the interview process).

Physical Demands: To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to meet the following physical demands:

  • Frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
  • Regularly crouch, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, and reach arms above the head.
  • Bend forward at the waist or bend legs and spine to install or move equipment.
  • Work safely in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Perform tasks while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a mask, face shield, and composite-toed boots.
