Job description

Diesel Mechanic

Location: McKinney, TX

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation: $18+/hr. (based on experience) + full benefits


Position Overview:

Southwest International Trucks is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the McKinney Team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and company incentives.
Diesel Mechanic Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system failures
  • Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting of component parts and systems
  • Repair and adjust engines including CAT, Cummins, Allison, and International
  • Service drive trains including Eaton, Meritor, and Spicer
  • Install and repair truck and engine equipment
  • Utilize welding skills when applicable
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel mechanics
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair major components
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting instructional manuals and diagnostic charts
  • Familiarity with computer diagnostics (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred
  • Ownership of tools and toolbox (rent-to-own program available)
