Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity to share. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager with previous experience in aviation-related projects. As a Senior Quality Control you will directly support and coordinate with the project management team, the construction management team, and the airport’s construction inspection division staff to ensure contractor conformance with design documents, and the airport’s project and quality control requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of the Quality Control Program

• Directly support and coordinate with Lead Design Quality Control Manager and prime contractor project management staff and design consultants to ensure contractor conformance with design documents.

• Maintain excellent relationships with owner, internal team, architect, consultants, general contractor, and subcontractors.

• Briefs and updates Design Quality Control Manager.

• Monitors project Schedule with Design activities for adherence to the QC procedures;

• Monitors and manages design schedules, procurement, and preconstruction activities for adherence to the QC procedures;

• Quality Control (QC) of construction activities and procedures;.

• Coordinate site inspections and testing, equipment and material delivery activities with Construction Manager and prime subcontractor designated quality control personnel and/or Superintendents.

• Track and review daily inspection reports submitted by quality control personnel and inspectors and maintain IR log.

• Manage inspection requests (IREQs) to airport and review for adherence to construction inspection division requirements

• Observe and record inspection activities for electrical, mechanical, concrete, and soils on airport projects including baggage optimization, terminals, runways, taxiways, airfield lighting and signage installation, drainage improvements, utility relocation, and pavement rehabilitation per project requirements;

• Perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Page 2 of 3

• Read and interpret plans and specifications; investigate code violations; and prepare clear and concise reports.

• Review and accept all design, preconstruction, logistics and coordination documents intended for submission to Owner or outside agencies for review prior to submission.

• Monitor subconsultant/subcontractor compliance with the QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM/PLAN.

• Identify and communicate quality expectations and client-specific requirements including client- supplied documents.

• Provide executive oversight in the development of corrective and preventive actions.

• Develop and maintain QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures per project requirements. • Communicate and clarify QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures within the Project Team.

• Capture and display metrics as identified in QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures.

• Report metrics identified in QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures to the Project Leadership.

• Review deliverables and other work products and enforce compliance with contract provisions and client expectations with regards to quality work.

• Periodically audit QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures to identify compliance issues and validate the effectiveness of the QA/QC process.

• Facilitate the development of corrective and preventive actions as required to improve the effectiveness of QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM policies and procedures.

• Perform periodic quality and coordination reviews of all Team deliverables, reports, and work products. Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in major airport building construction projects and have at least five (5) years of recent responsible quality control management experience

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field; • Knowledge of the California Building Codes and construction methods

• Knowledge of CAL OSHA safety requirements

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Strong leadership and problem solving

• Professionalism, strong character including honesty, integrity, and ethics

• Excellent follow through and ability to drive tasks to conclusion

• ICC certification or ACI Certification (Reinforced Concrete), a plus but not required.

• Familiar with FAA P-501 concrete beams testing, a plus but not required.

• 3 years of experience and certified at NICET Level II or higher, a plus but not required.
