ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSOCIATE

Prime Materials Recovery is seeking a motivated and driven Accounts Payable Clerk to aid and contribute to the overall success and growth of our organization. The accounts payable clerk will report to the Controller and will be part of a great team that together will continue to help build and grow our business.

Job Summary:

The responsibility of the accounts payable clerk is to collect, review, reconcile and pay the Company’s bills in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to, ensuring accuracy of a large volume of data entered into the accounting system and scheduling payment dates. The accounts payable clerk’s other duties will include providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients along with handling vendor inquiries and various other accounts payable functions.

Responsibilities:

· Receive invoices and reconcile to purchase orders and receivers.

· Review that the proper approvals are met by the plant manager.

· Ensure expenses are coded to the proper general ledger accounts.

· Process invoices by creating vouchers in the accounting system.

· Ensure all invoices are received from the plants and entered into the accounting system before month end close.

· Monitor for applicable discounts and calculate sales tax owed when applicable.

· Input credit memos and apply to future payments.

· Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation.

· Verify vendor accounts by reconciling to monthly statements.

· Maintain vendor payable files.

· Request and maintain Form W-9 information from new vendors

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.

· Proficient in Excel, Word, Accounting Software

· Proven 1-2 years of accounting experience, with in-depth knowledge in the following:

· General ledger, chart of accounts, debits, and credits

· AP and bank reconciliations.

· Attention to detail, thoroughness and attention to detail is key.
