If you have experience in child care and are looking to grow your career in a leadership role, join St. Paul Public Schools’ Discovery Club program! Our Child Care Program Leaders independently plan and implement appropriate enrichment and recreational activities for students in our Summer program. St. Paul Public Schools provides our students and staff with the resources and opportunities to grow together.

Job Responsibilities:

Solely responsible for leading a group of up to 15 students, and/or jointly responsible for leading larger groups in conjunction with other Discovery Club staff.
Create weekly lesson plans that support the learning and development of all students.
Provide appropriate behavior guidance for their group of students and take appropriate disciplinary action as needed.
Develop long-term supportive relationships with Discovery Club participants; assist students developing homework skills.
Teach and model social skills, personal responsibility, problem solving, respect, and related skills.
Carry out appropriate health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Pay & Schedule:

Competitive hourly pay up to $26/hour (based on experience).
Split shift schedule available from 6 to 8 hours 5 days/week.
Full-time employment starts at 32.5 hours per week.
Locations: Horace Mann, Adams and Crossroads

Qualifications:

2 year degree in Child Development, Education, or related field OR 2 years of work experience working with children.
Current first aid and CPR certificates are preferred or must be obtained within three months of appointment.
Ability to work effectively with children and their parents/ guardians and work cooperatively with co-workers and school staff.
