Senior Design Technician - Water/Wastewater

Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Design Technician of our St Paul, MN office. This opportunity will allow you to design the building and internal process structures for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Typical drawings deal with reinforced concrete structures or tanks (water-bearing) along with masonry and precast concrete buildings. Experience in Revit is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes detailed drawings from rough sketches and/or verbal instructions or notes with limited direction from other staff.
• Revise’s drawings and completes standard calculations used in the completion of engineering plans.
• Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures.
• Develops detailed drawings of structures and installations such as retaining walls, levees, roads, utilities, culverts, channel grading, water and wastewater treatment systems, and other miscellaneous improvements.
• Participates, as needed, in design meetings with engineering and client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
• May accompany survey crew or field technicians as needed in order to locate grading markers, collect data required for revision of construction drawings, and/or perform engineering tests.
• Works under the guidance of “lead” design technicians and/or engineers to complete assigned work within budgeted timeframes.
• Works with company developed CADD standards in order to establish projects in a manner which increases the ability of other technicians or location personnel to assist with project design.
• Reviews own work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Manager or engineering staff for review.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Eight or more years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced skills in Revit are required.
• We also prefer experience in specific software such as AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D applications.
