G/L Accountant

SUMMARY:
The G/L Accountant is responsible for the daily banking detail for cash reporting requirements. The G/L Accountant 1 will be responsible for all preparation of the non-gaming journal entries for the month end close.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures reconciliations for all banking accounts are done monthly and all adjusting journal entries are done timely. Any major variances are brought to managements attentation immediately.
- Prepares all prepaid journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepares daily banking input for cash reporting.
- Prepares daily credit card balancing.
- Prepares month journal entries and input into Great Plains.
- Responsible for scanning all month end journal entries.
- Assist with the monthly package preparation.
- Prepare month end comp journal entries for IG and LMS.
- Responsible for intercompany month end journal entries in GP.
- Responsible for the Tri-Annual Cage audit
- Prepares and reviews DMR and flash for accuracy prior to distribution.
- Audits both gaming and non-gaming areas, covers A/P and A/R and count team as needed.
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts as assigned.
- Prepares Document tracking and logging for the boxes I the warehouse.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Associates’ Degree in Finance or Accounting-related field strongly preferred. Minimum 2 years of previous experience in similar position within the gaming industry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Nevada Gaming Control Board registration required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
