Description:

Summary: Responsible for scheduling overall Production Operations supporting commitments and forecast for various product lines, both NPD and mature products from RO to delivery. The position will require interface with both internal and external customers. The Master Scheduler will also be responsible for continuous improvement activities and processes related to production scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned:

· Develop, maintain, analyze, and coordinate the master production schedule for facility production

· Responsible for reviewing requirements for production’s master schedule (12 weeks out) and reviewing current forecast for corresponding items

· Maintain and execute the master production schedule to meet customer expectations and performance goals

· Responsible for ensuring alignment between customer’s forecast/sales orders and master schedule

· Coordinate with various departments to facilitate on-time production and deliveries

· Coordinate any changes to schedule with production staff and/or relevant stakeholders

· In coordination with S&OP, analyze capacity needs to develop realistic manufacturing schedules and project future capacity constraints

· Continuously update the project schedule based on changes in the master production schedule, engineering activities, and material updates

· Gathers daily progress information and complies reports concerning status of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise project management personnel of productions delays

· Works with the production staff to expedite operations that may delay projects or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

· In coordination with S&OP, ensure factory is level-loaded based on forecasted workload

· In coordination with S&OP, ensure the maximization of resources for the production facility – capacity, materials, and labor

· Ensure that master schedule reporting is on time and accurate

· Monitor schedule adherence and weekly shipments as well as production efficiency analyzing standard hours vs. actual hours expended

· Obtains information from planning regarding shortages in existing backlogs and advises management when on-time order deliver is in jeopardy

· Evaluate impact of “what-if” scenarios on manufacturing performance

· Inputs data in to various systems and creates/prepares reports for production planning or customer meetings

· Drives operational excellence and provides Supply Chain expertise to other functional areas

· Must be organized and possess time management skills and be able to adapt to priority changes

· Regularly provides master schedule updates to relevant stakeholders

· Reviews shortages in existing backlogs and advises management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardy

· Works with Production supervisor on a daily basis to monitor status and scheduling in order to obtain on-time delivery of products

· Will coordinate with production any changes to schedules

· Works with Development Planning group in order to support any required actions related to new Engineering Drawings or any Design Changes

· Mentors and supports planners in any inquiry

· Drives operational excellence and provides Supply Chain expertise to other functional areas

· Demonstrates leadership and business acumen in actions, interactions and decisions

· Must be organized and possess time management skills and skills to adapt to priority changes

· Attends and actively participates in departmental meetings in a positive manner

· Works in additional projects assigned by Management

Requirements:

Requirements:

· Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Knowledge of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles is required.

· Strong written and verbal business communications abilities; must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

· Proven ability to generate complex Integrated Master Schedules in a formal reporting environment using MS Excel or MS Project and other elements of the MS Office suite.

· Understands the fundamentals of Project Management

· Strong written and verbal business communications abilities, must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.

· Self-starter with ability to drive improvement, meet timeliness and objectives

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree. 5-10 years of experience in production planning in an aerospace, automotive, or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others. Preferred Skills (not required), Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. Six Sigma green or black belt.

Physical Demands: Ability to pick up and carry statements, records and marketing materials for placement in files or trunk of car. Ability to access record manuals and office equipment (cutter, laminator). Ability to retrieve items from lower file cabinets and shelving. Ability to work over desk for projects and communication with other personnel. Assisting with daily duties to retrieve files from lower cabinets. Ability to go up and down steps to go to meeting on second floor. Ability to grasp and carry manuals, folders, and other office equipment (staplers).Ability to work with employees throughout plant and parking lot.
