Packaging Engineer

Job Description

We are expanding and looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our team! Our Packaging Engineers own their projects, so they execute everything from concept layout to field commissioning. As a result, we are looking for well-rounded individuals with the technical background to complete a project as well as the communication skills to interface with the end customers during installation, checkout and startup. Some of the responsibilities include developing packaging line layouts, ensuring compliance with OSHA safety and ergonomic guidelines, investigating and integrating vendor supplied equipment, reviewing customer specifications to ensure compliance, and providing startup support. This exciting position provides a good balance of both office and field work ensuring a dynamic job with new challenges on every project. The position will require approximately 25% travel to jobsite locations. This is a challenging and very rewarding position which will require project leadership and a highly motivated person.

Qualifications:

Education – BSME, or equivalent

Experience – 10+ years in design and/or integration of food/beverage systems.

Details:

• Ability to visualize equipment and production spaces in 3D from a 2D layout
• Recommend options for improvement to existing or proposed layouts
• Adhere to project standards for design and documentation
• Coordinate with electrical engineers for the implementation of electrical devices within systems
• Experience with container, carton and pallet conveyors is helpful but not required
• Ability to perform assignments independently with guidance from department manager and/or lead engineer
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems to establish the root cause and determine solutions
• Must have excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills
• Contribute to the development of project proposals
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• MS Office Suite
