Job description

Role Overview:
This role is for a Lead Packaging Engineer with a minimum of 6-8 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in Package Development. The position requires specific experience within the Consumer, OTC, or Pharmaceutical industries and a strong background in GMP. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading packaging site transfer projects and managing the development of robust packaging systems from design to market.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute and Lead Packaging site transfer projects.
  • Plan and execute package engineering assignments concerned with large life cycle management initiatives.
  • Engage in the development of the material and structural aspects of packages, including Primary, Secondary & Tertiary materials, to ultimately deliver a robust packaging system to the market.
  • Design, Create & approve component specifications, working closely with R&D for primary components design and product related changes.
  • Lead the package design development and assessment, and develop, write, gain cross-functional alignment, and route for approval package development documentation.
  • Lead packaging development projects.
  • Determine and coordinate physical testing to ensure product and package integrity for manufacturing through end users.
  • Lead troubleshooting in the resolution of packaging related issues in manufacturing and the field.
  • Execute packaging projects in compliance with government and corporate guidelines.
  • Execute package line trials and package testing.
  • Demonstrate cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) working experience and cGMP documentation proficiency.
  • Create Copy and graphics specification, Pallet patterns, and Finished Put-up specifications.
  • Perform SAP related tasks including Data Entry, Raw Material Code requests, Bill Of Material Creation and revisions.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 6-8 years of industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of Package Development experience.
  • Specific experience within the Consumer industry.
  • Specific experience within the OTC industry.
  • Specific experience within the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • GMP experience.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge related to package materials, equipment, testing and package development.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6-8 years of industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of Package Development experience.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment is preferred.
