SALARY RANGE: $82,493 - $109,970

This is an onsite position, no remote or hybrid work options.

The Wireless Telecom Administrator II is responsible for managing and optimizing wireless communication networks within the organization. This role involves designing and maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting connectivity issues, implementing security measures, and collaborating with IT professionals and vendors to ensure the reliability and efficiency of wireless systems. The position requires a deep understanding of telecommunications technology, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to proactively address network-related challenges.

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

The Wireless Telecom Administrator II position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in wireless telecommunications. Additionally, candidates should have 3-5 years of practical experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field. Qualified candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of telecommunications technology (e.g., microwave, land mobile radio, LTE, and Wi-Fi), wireless protocols, and network security practices. Relevant certifications in wireless technologies, such as Microwave Radio Technician (MRT), Wireless Communications (WCM), Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), or equivalent may be preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimize wireless communication networks. Additionally, candidates should have experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex connectivity issues, as well as a solid understanding of industry compliance standards and regulations. Effective communication and collaboration skills are crucial for working with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications of Position:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain wireless communication networks, ensuring optimal coverage, reliability, and scalability to meet the organization's business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless systems with overall IT infrastructure. Vendor Collaboration and Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers on wireless installations, optimization of wireless network performance, and regulatory compliance. Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate the procurement of equipment and services to support wireless network operations. Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, access points, and related devices. Conduct routine system audits, update firmware/software, and ensure all network components operate at peak efficiency. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve wireless network issues promptly, employing advanced troubleshooting techniques. Investigate connectivity problems reported by end-users, assess network performance, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime. Capacity Planning and Optimization: Evaluate network capacity, forecast growth, and plan for scalability. Recommend and implement enhancements to accommodate increased communication demands, working closely with vendors to procure additional resources as needed. Security Implementation: Enforce security protocols and measures to safeguard wireless networks from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities. Regularly update and audit security configurations, staying informed about industry best practices and emerging threats. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of wireless network configurations, procedures, and protocols. Generate regular reports on network performance, security status, and capacity utilization for management review. Training and Support: Provide training to end-users and IT staff on wireless device usage and best practices. Offer technical support to resolve wireless connectivity issues, ensuring users can effectively leverage wireless communication capabilities. Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in wireless telecommunications. Pursue relevant certifications and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, contributing to the continuous improvement of network operations.
