Job Description

Seeking an assistant manager to join our friendly team. We are looking for someone who is able to thrive in a busy customer service-based environment.

The ideal candidate has:

Prior management experience and basic leadership skills (required)
Cash handling experience
Knowledge of inventory management and projection experience (a plus)
Ability to professionally respond to customer and staff situations and maintain a positive work environment.
Ability to maintain a multi-tasking workflow and standards-of-operation over the course of the day.
Basic Microsoft Office proficiency (required)
Night and weekend availability (required) able to start as early as 9 am and end on night shifts as late as 2 am.
This part-time position is 15-20 hours per week. Free movies and discounted concessions are provided
Reliable transportation to and from work a must. Willing to train eager and responsible individuals.

Company Description

The Logan Theatre opened in 1915 as the Paramount Theatre, a single-screen cinema. In 1922, it was taken over by the Vaselopolis family, as several waves of new ethnic groups reshaped Logan Square as their home, the Logan Theatre remained a family-owned business committed to serving the diverse families of the community.

Chris Vaselopolis, the previous owner, was born in the Theatre building and dedicated his life to keeping his family's legacy alive through the Theatre's lighted screens. In the 1960s, when Milwaukee Avenue underwent heavy construction to build the CTA Blue Line station, the resilient Logan Theatre kept its doors open for business. Its last round of renovations occurred in the 1990s, and the 2006 film Stranger than Fiction starring Will Ferrell used the Logan Theatre as a shooting location. For nearly a century, the Logan Theatre has been a family institution with a deep tradition of neighborhood entertainment at an unbeatable price – a legacy the new Logan Theatre will continue.

Our renovations revealed stunning details of the Theatre's original design and architecture that were obscured under decades of plaster. When you visit us, you’ll marvel at the fully restored stained glass arch over the Theatre's entrance, refurbished marble walls, and a decorative relief panel dating back to the Theatre's elegant 1915 interior. We are excited to share with you our comfortable new seating, enhanced DOLBY sound system, new screens, Christie digital projectors, and 3D capabilities. Our box office, concession area, and lobby have been expanded and remodeled with Art Deco details reminiscent of the original décor. We also invite guests to experience our bar and lounge, open late and serving a full range of drinks.
