The People & Culture Specialist (P&CS) supports the People & Culture Department, which works with Highlander’s leadership team and the People & Culture Coordinator to direct key human resources functions. The P&CS will uphold and maintain people-centered processes; provide key hiring, onboarding, & off-boarding support; and ensure employment law compliance and safety practices.

The People & Culture Specialist is responsible for working with Highlander’s leadership and the People & Culture Coordinator to support key human resources functions in regards to creating and maintaining administrative processes and records; providing key hiring, onboarding, and off-boarding support; administering benefits; supporting compliance and safety practices; and meeting organizational expectations.
The P&CS will collaborate with the People & Culture Coordinator to champion initiatives in hiring, employee life cycle, benefits and compensation, compliance, policy, employee engagement, and performance management. Using an anti-racist and equity lens, the P&CS will support implementing employee programs and activities that ensure that Highlander focuses on the development, engagement, and retention of staff.
