Location: St. Louis, MO- Westport Headquarters

FLSA Status: ☒ Exempt  ☐ Non-Exempt

Hybrid Schedule- 3 days in office, 2 days from home


General Overview:

The People & Culture Generalist will support our direct-to-consumer channels including retail brand stores and mobile marketing teams. This role serves as a key partner by advising employees and leaders People & Culture (“P&C”) strategies, policies, practices, and procedures to assist with effective business operations across a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. The People & Culture Generalist will play a critical role in fostering a positive and inclusive culture, while ensuring consistent, compliant, and people-first practices across multiple locations and mobile operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide People & Culture guidance and coaching to managers and/or employees on the effective application of Company policies, practices, and procedures in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, training, compensation, and benefits.
  • Assist in the implementation of Company-wide People & Culture strategies that support successful business outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the field and corporate office to support and deliver communication and roll out Company initiatives across all areas of People & Culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor regulations and advise management of changes when necessary.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, recognition, and performance management activities.
  • Collaborate with leaders to execute performance management practices, including coaching, feedback, and development planning
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess talent needs and develop effective recruiting strategies and pipelines
  • Support and enhance onboarding experiences through coordination of orientation, training, and early-stage engagement touchpoints
  • Oversee workers’ compensation cases, ensuring timely reporting, effective case management, and smooth return-to-work transitions
  • Support leave of absence processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Maintain accurate and compliant team member data within HRIS/HCM systems
  • Contribute to People & Culture reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support learning and development efforts that build capability across the organization
  • Contribute to People & Culture projects and cross-functional initiatives that drive business and cultural outcomes
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and evolving business needs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably supporting retail or field-based teams
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, recruiting, labor laws, and workers’ compensation
  • Experience supporting multi-location or mobile workforce environments preferred
  • Experience working within an HCM system such as Dayforce, ADP, or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Periodic travel to offsite locations
