Job Type: Full Time, Salary, Non-Exempt 

Job Location: Chicago Land Area

Salary Range: $38,000-$42,000

Position Description - What the Role Entails:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Assistant is responsible for assisting the recruitment,

retention, and termination systems for staff, and approximately 400 employees. This position

will have access to confidential employee information and the candidate must be able to handle

private matters discreetly and professionally. This position is located at 3946 W North Ave location, which may include some travel to our Chicago offices.

Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing:

  • Assists the PC team with HR related tasks and functions.
  • Ensure that all supplies for orientation/events are prepared in advance.
  • Assist with recruiting by managing job postings and attending career fairs.
  • Provide support in reviewing and screening resumes and job applications, ensuring tracking.
  • Prepares files for audit and works with the program.
  • Engages in competitive compensation and benefits research.
  • Oversees background check and drug testing process for new hire employees.
  • Helps employees with Paylocity questions and the re-setting of passwords as needed.
  • Answers phone calls pertaining to HR questions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Rincon's Work Environment - What to expect:

The People & Culture Assistant must be able to successfully perform essential functions of this job, including transporting paperwork and other materials between a variety of on-site and off-site locations and preparing for activities that may require traveling to off-site locations. She/he must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including a copier and printer. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour day, 1-hour unpaid lunch
  • Monday to Friday, some evenings and weekends.

Language:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred 

Requirements

Position Qualifications - What is required to Perform the Role:

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years' related experience working in Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated competency in working with culturally diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and HR Software. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check.
  • Strong communication skills
