Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator (Contractor)

IM seeks to ensure that students, particularly historically underserved students, and their teachers have access to aligned, grade-level, mathematics curriculum resources, and that teachers experience professional learning that leads to enduring mathematical learning for their students.

The team: The Illustrative Mathematics Marketing Department drives the branding and promotional engine of IM. The Marketing Department is responsible for increasing IM’s brand awareness overall, while also driving our various audiences to IM’s curriculum and professional products through digital and marketing channels. As a vital part of IM’s organization structure, IM’s Marketing Department helps our business grow and achieve our organizational goals.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Graphic Designer with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics to join our small and close-knit Marketing Department. We need someone with a combined knowledge of both graphics and technical skills to work under the direction of the Creative Services Director.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

• Creating and manipulating graphics through Adobe Creative Suite apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Formatting graphics from established templates as well as collecting, processing, and proofing various graphics files
• Assisting Creative Services Director in producing print, web, social media, and other content marketing materials.
• Being able to adhere to an established brand and guidelines, and still be creative and fresh in designs
• Use online tools like Pardot, WordPress, etc, to format newsletters, and emails, and make some changes to the IM website.
• Assist in marketing coordination of a project and following a marketing workflow and timeline to ensure projects progress promptly
• Working with creative briefs and tight deadlines to Assess project specifics and create a final product that adheres to those requirements
• Take marketing materials from concept to execution
• Collaborating with Marketing Team to define design goals
• Reviewing and proofing graphic materials before the product is marked as complete

Requirements:

• Available for zoom meetings during normal business hours
• 5+ years of experience in graphic, production, web, social media, and print design with a marketing team
• Experience with WordPress
• Experience with Google suite (google docs, slides, sheets, etc)
• Knowledge of working with tools like Pardot, Mailchimp, and Hubspot a plus
• Experience with the EdTech industry a plus

Hours and Compensation

• This position is approved to be compensated for up to 25 hours per week, with the opportunity for up to 100 hours per month based on the workflow and contractor’s availability.
• The compensation is $40-$45 per hour commensurate with experience.
