GeoSearch is actively seeking a Director of Safety in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for risk management which includes all functions in the Safety Management System, associated software, processes, programs and is involved in all aspects of the business.
Duties
-Champion safety as a company value
-Conduct high level, mid-level, and project safety risk and hazards assessments
-Conduct safety investigations to include Root Cause analysis and Human Factors (HFACS) analysis
-Conduct audits and safety inspections
-Qualify and oversee designated auditors
-Prepare written reports for audits and investigations
-Produce analytical data regarding safety events, trends, and safety performance indicators
-Maintain internal and external safety information databases for internal and Customer use
-Technical writing of manuals, policy, programs, and company communications
-Conduct or coordinate safety meetings and prepare minutes and summaries
-Attend industry safety events including trainings, and conferences
-Participate in Company and third-party safety program audits
-Advance our safety program in a growing and diversifying business
-Conduct safety-related onboarding and training for new personnel
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Valid FAA commercial pilot license and 1st or 2nd class medical certificate -OR- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates with flying experience in crew environment.
-5 years or more of management of an aviation Safety Management System for manned aircraft
-A keen interest in safety and willingness to work cooperatively in the organization to maintain safety standards
-Self-motivation and the ability to work independently when required and with teams and groups as needed
-Above average computer skills and the ability to learn new programs, applications, and processes quickly. Ability to use Microsoft Office and Google productivity suites at above-average levels is required.
-High level of individual organization to manage multiple demands and projects at one time
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-OSHA certification preferred
Attendance, Hours, and Travel
-Normal work schedule is 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
-Some remote work is permitted
-Travel is required, up to 50% of work days and varies with current demands
-Early starts and late ends are required based on travel
-Weekend work may be required in support of unusual or emergency situations
