Job Summary
Our firm is seeking a Production/Operations Manager (POM) to join our team. This position will provide managerial and dynamic support to the Founding Principal (FP) and GMCG’s events team.
The Production/Operations Manager will oversee project management tools and support team collaboration and coordination across all GMCG events and projects. The POM has the ability to lead a nd oversee a team, manage multiple projects and priorities, exercise good judgment, and maintain a drive to continually learn and improve are all critical skills for this position.
This position requires someone to be self-directed with strong management skills, energetic, skilled organizer and time management, scheduler, and trusted advisor with a high level of integrity and accountability to the mission and vision of the firm. Primary Responsibilities
● Plan, manage and execute all aspects of GMCG internal and client events.
● Support team collaboration and coordination with project management tasks, as needed.
● Oversee project management tools and support team collaboration and coordination.
● Maintain all project-related documentation, including but not limited to timeline, work plans, contracts,
● invoices, and payment records.
● Develop and support relationships with clients, strategic partners, host facilities, and sponsors.
● Stakeholder management and community engagement, including:
One-on-one meetings
Group meeting facilitation
Calendar management, note taking, emailing
● Maintain project budgets.
● Serve as the on site point of contact for events.
● Provide direction to event staff during daily operations as needed to ensure flawless event execution and
the highest level of customer experience.
● Plan, negotiate and oversee logistics for multiple events, including:
Venue booking, securing entertainment, photographers, and speakers, etc.
● Oversee permitting for multiple outdoor events; permitting research, application development,
application expedition, agency negotiations and management.
● Prospecting to develop ongoing relationships for new and repeat business.
● Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the client’s standards.
● Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings.
● Attend and report project updates at GMCG team meetings.
● Other special special projects as designated by GMCG leadership.
Qualifications
● Bay Area locals preferred.
● Bachelors' degree in related area(s).
● Spanish language proficiency, verbal and written, preferred, but not required.
● Min 4 year experience in large-scale event production and management.
● Min 2 years of project management experience.
● Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software like Google Workspace.
● Experience with obtaining permits in the City and County of SF and/or Alameda County.
● Valid CA Drivers’ License with clean record; Minimum 25 years of age, to ensure eligibility to drive rental vehicles without prohibitive insurance fees for drivers under 25.
● Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends events.
Physical Requirements
● Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
● Working conditions include standard office as well as occasional travel within the Bay Area.
● Use a computer, phone, copier and office equipment.
● Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
