Demand Planner

Scope of Job:
Responsible for maintaining customer-based forecasts and utilizing forecast performance tracking tools to drive high customer service level. This position will collaborate with key external customers weekly and monthly to ensure the supply chain has the best demand plan. Key participant in the monthly S&OP process to include utilizing the ERP tool to house the unconstrained customer demand plan and drive appropriate actions. Analyzes historical sales, pricing, demand data, market trends, and other statistical metrics to prepare production schedule forecasts. Strong data analytic skills to create and maintain forecast tracking tools along with investigating performance gaps with root cause analysis, refining forecasts and improving replenishment process.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales and customers to obtain customer-based forecasts, promotional information, scheduled trials, sales history and other relevant demand planning inputs to develop a monthly unconstrained forecast.
• Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by organizing the statistical, sales, and customer forecasts and related analysis for presentation, discussion, and resolution.
• Work closely with our customer’s planning organization to establish explicit understanding of planning rules and guidelines. Discuss forecasting trend changes, inventory position and needs, and long-term forecast outlook.
• Partner with Supply Planning and Procurement to identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply periods.
• Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
• Address demand related queries and issues in a timely manner.
• Serve as the supply chain liaison for the commercial organization - providing them with a single source for questions, information, or assistance.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 2-4+ years of experience preferred. Deep knowledge of the demand planning function and solid knowledge of the overall data flow and impacts downstream.
