Job Description

Reports to: Senior Manager, Communications

Job Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

Provide design and graphics support for NCPDP, and specifically for its membership, educational programs, meetings, sponsorships, standards and database products. The position also provides design and graphics support for the NCPDP Foundation. This position is responsible for creative concept development, design layout and production of publications and marketing materials in print and electronic formats, website and marketing campaigns. This position also provides website updating and some video production. The position works closely with the Senior Manager, Communications and Senior Vice President, Operations to develop effective communications to members and the healthcare
industry utilizing a variety of media resources. The ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative, is expected.

Major Responsibilities:

· Responsible for owning and implementing visual communications for programs and services of NCPDP and the NCPDP Foundation. This includes synthesizing complex material through design concepts to create marketing graphics that support strategic goals.

  • Responsible for the full range of design and graphic services – visual concept development, graphic design, layout and production – necessary to bring electronic and print marketing communications materials through to completion, always focused on customer service. Projects include collateral, publications, e-mail marketing, exhibit graphics,
    Power Point templates, etc.
  • Responsible for developing visual concepts and identity for event campaigns to support campaign themes and key messaging, in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Communications and other team members.
  • Responsible for coordinating with outside printers for annual report, brochures, business systems and other printed materials.
  • Responsible for using content management system software for producing website graphics, website landing pages for marketing campaigns, and html publications.
  • Responsible for producing basic videos for placement on You Tube and NCPDP’s website.
  • Responsible for maintaining graphic/brand standards for NCPDP and the NCPDP Foundation.
  • Responsible for handling multiple jobs and input, contributing from a graphic artist's perspective on cross-functional teams, and managing a busy daily schedule with a sense of urgency.
  • Provides input to the Senior Manager, Communications and other team members on design and production timelines for project management.

· Performs other duties as may be assigned by the President; Senior Vice President, Operations; Director, and Senior Manager, Communications.

Organizational Relationships:

The President of NCPDP may be required, during peak periods or when staff resources
are limited, to redirect staff to share duties and responsibilities of others.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Degree from a four-year college or university or any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. One to three years’ experience in a design/graphics specialist, marketing communications specialist, or similar position. Experience in healthcare organization preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing skills with software such as Camtasia or similar product. Experience developing graphics for annual conferences, large scale events and product campaigns. Experience with a website content management system a plus. Firm knowledge of basic office practices, procedures and computer applications, including Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office with advanced PowerPoint skills, is required.

· Skills: Professional skills in graphic design and production, photo and video editing, desktop publishing in a deadline-driven environment. Willingness and ability to learn quickly, accept constructive feedback and adapt to new challenges and opportunities with a sharp attention to detail and active listening skills. Ability to make decisions and judgments relating to priority of projects; develop alternative solutions to problems; work independently in the absence of supervision; work with staff, NCPDP members, and general public with respect and courtesy; establish positive working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people.

  • The position is full-time. Due to the requirements of the job, the position will reside in the Scottsdale, AZ office.
