We are assisting our North Dallas client in the search for a Controller. This position will be onsite for training and then offering a hybrid schedule. This role reports to the VP, Accounting & Finance and has 2 direct reports.

Company DescriptionWe are assisting our North Dallas client in the search for a Controller. This position will be onsite for training and then offering a hybrid schedule. This role reports to the VP, Accounting & Finance and has 2 direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing contracts and transactions, reconciling and validating accounts, assist in billing operations to ensure accuracy of order processing and to identify and remediate revenue recognition risks
- Manage month-end close with responsibilities that include preparation and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations, along with related variance analysis and the preparation of financial statements
- Oversees client billing for the company
- Assist with the build and maintenance of detailed financial models for forecasting and budgeting which incorporate history, trends, and current business data based on the contracts
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Help identify and drive efficiencies in the accounting organization including improvements to tracking business metrics
- Oversees payroll and HR for the company
- Contributes financial leadership and expertise to corporate strategy and operations
- Ad hoc analysis and projects that will address current issues as they are identified
- BA or BS in accounting or related field
- 5+ years of relevant accounting and operational experience
- Supervisory experience required
- Strong in-depth working knowledge month-end close processes, operational accounting procedures
- Advanced Excel skills preferred; Coach Manager software experience a plus
- Professional and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Process-oriented with the ability to create standardized processes and tracking tools to ensure timely and accurate processing of data and reporting
- Ability to solve problems and know when and where to escalate
- Highly motivated with the ability to work within a team, take initiative, show strong attention to detail, and create concise and decision supporting analyses is essential
- Positive attitude, commitment to excellence, and integrity
