Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller in Grapevine, TX to support the organization’s accounting and financial operations. This role assists in managing daily accounting activities, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. The Assistant Controller will help prepare financial statements, monitor and enforce internal controls, support month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Additionally, this position provides oversight and guidance to accounting staff, assists with audits and regulatory reporting, and collaborates with leadership to support financial planning and strategic decision-making. The Assistant Controller serves as a key partner in bridging day-to-day accounting functions with the organization’s broader financial goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Must have Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
  • Must have 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
