  • About you:

The Front Desk receptionist keeps the front desk presentable and equipped, greeting or welcoming guests, answering and addressing complaints or questions, handling phone calls and redirecting them to the concerned department, receiving correspondences and drafting, checking and sorting emails, monitoring office supplies, placing orders, updating office files or records.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
  • High School diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 Year experience as medical receptionist preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of general office practices.
  • Proficient with standard filing procedures, telephone etiquette, and standard office equipment

ABILITIES/SKILLS

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task and very organized.
  • Required to be proficient with grammar, spelling and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers and staff in written and oral communication.
  • Must be proficient be proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge with computers, scanners, etc.
  • Able to multi-task and very organized.
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Schedule’s appointments and follows up on rescheduling and no-show appointments.
  • Screens incoming telephone calls.
  • Receives and conveys messages electronically, in writing and verbally.
  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner and directs patients to the appropriate area.
  • Check-in and Check-out patients via EMR system.
  • Collects and posts co-pay and/or payments according to health plan and conducts end of day reconciliation process.
  • Verifies patient insurance prior to the services being rendered.
  • Ability to update medical record and computer system with new information.
  • Sorts and delivers mail, medical records and other correspondence to appropriate department.
  • Participates in staff and educational meetings.
  • Maintain a cheerful, positive, and respectful attitude.
  • Other duties as needed and/or assigned.
